Precaution
Specimen should be maintained at 37 C during transport if brought from home and examined within 3 hours of collection.
Normal
1.volume is 2-6 ml,
2.Total count more than 80 million/ml
3.Live spermatozoa more than 50 %
4.progressive motiliy score is 3-4.
Pathological Semen
1.If volume is <1.5 ml
2.total count <20
3.live sperm <35
4.and progressive motiliy score is 0-1
These above findings are pathological and may lead to infertlity.
Latest view is that count of 20 million /mL can be fertile.
